What's here

Thick hedgerows line the main track leading you from the main car park deeper into the reserve, providing habitat for a range of birds and mammals. There are two hides which are the perfect places to scan the lush meadows for signs of hunting kestrels, barn owls and marsh harriers. Keep your eyes peeled along the various waterways (or rhynes as we say in Somerset) throughout the reserve for dragonflies, warblers, kingfishers and water voles. There are several benches dotted around the reserve for you to sit back and enjoy the wildlife around you.

Shapwick Moor has a peaceful, ‘off-the beaten track’ feel to it where you can escape everyday stresses and enjoy a traditional Somerset landscape.
